Leo Turrini feels Charles Leclerc would have won in Las Vegas without “infamous manhole track issue”

Leo Turrini, a well-known journalist and commentator for Sky Sport F1, has commented on the 2023 Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix in Race Anatomy, stating that “Charles Leclerc would have won without the infamous manhole” defect on the track.
Leo Turrini’s words on the race:
“I want to start by saying that without the infamous Las Vegas manhole, Charles Leclerc would have won the Grand Prix. Under normal circumstances, with a good start, Carlos Sainz could have helped Charles Leclerc and protected him from Verstappen. It’s not only the fault of the International Federation that approved the circuit, but they also gave him an absurd penalty that had irreversible consequences.”
On Max Verstappen and the start:
“Despite the penalty for that somewhat aggressive start against Charles Leclerc, he ultimately crossed the finish line first.”
On Leclerc:
“Charles Leclerc, in my opinion, with this final overtaking of Sergio Pérez, despite a few small errors, is the world champion in our hearts.”
On Sergio Pérez:
“The big problem, without a solution, for this Mexican is called Max Verstappen. When you are the teammate of a phenomenon, you crumble, let’s remember Rubens Barrichello with Michael Schumacher and so on, and he [Pérez] has dozed off for 6 months. But not to justify him, because he drives a Red Bull and should do much more, but in the end, he is mathematically second in the Championship.”

On Esteban Ocon:
“Ocon did a great job; he finished 4th with the Alpine, which is not exactly a missile, and outperformed Gasly this weekend.”
On the Mercedes-Ferrari battle for second place in the Constructors’:
“In Abu Dhabi, Ferrari presents itself with only a 4-point disadvantage, so they could really make a comeback that seemed impossible a month ago.”
On the contract renewals of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz:
“I believe the announcement could come before Christmas, and both will renew. I think it’s also the right choice, honestly.”
