Ferrari debuted their new 499P Le Man’s prototype racecar this past week at the Imola racetrack in Italy. It marks the first time in over 50 years that Ferrari created a factory-back prototype car to battle the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. This new prototype 3.0-liter will power pe race car twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid engine that develops 670 total horsepower, with the powertrain mated with a seven-speed sequential transmission.
Over the last several months, the 499P prototype has undergone extensive testing as it prepares to take on the world’s biggest manufacturers at races all over the world, starting with a 1,000-kilometer race at Sebring raceway in 2023. The Ferrari 499P will feature a four-wheel drive and an electric motor powering the front axle.
