Audi is continuing its commitment to one of the most accessible production car-based racing series by unveiling the next generation of its RS3 LMS competitor.

The RS3 has been competing globally in the TCR series since 2017, producing 38 championships, 16 drivers’ titles and 279 wins in 1,051 worldwide races to date. In North America, these cars compete in TC America under the GT World Challenge umbrella, along with the top-flight multi-class racing of IMSA’s Michelin Pilot Challenge. The new generation will hit tracks across the world in the second half of 2021.

Evolving within the rules of a series is always a challenge, but Audi Sport has optimized the platform for competition, ergonomics, safety and affordability. A new two-liter four-cylinder engine motivates the four-door with 340 horsepower, with an updated sequential gearbox delivering that power. Improved interior ergonomics should make things simpler for drivers as well.

“The development goals for our latest model focused on the customers,” said Chris Reinke, Head of Audi Sport customer racing. “Whether it’s about running times or setup options, safety or ergonomics: we want to offer the teams a car that is even more of a race car than before.”
