Sign of the Times? Montana Dealer Selling New Corvette Stingrays for $3,000 Off MSRP

We keep hearing that the market for the C8 Corvette Stingray has started to cool down. While we’ve seen evidence of that in the secondary market with the prices of pre-owned Corvettes dropping and the time to sale increasing, we know many dealers who still have a list of customers wanting to order the new Corvette. However, our attention was definitely piqued with this post on the Corvette Forum from a Montana Chevrolet dealer offering to sell two new Stingray “Stock Orders” for under $3,000 MSRP.

While most dealers can order Stock Units for sale by their dealership, they are still limited to the allocation numbers awarded to them. That’s why why Customer Sold Orders make up the majority of Corvette orders by dealerships as they are still working to fill their customer’s orders.

I must say that it has been forever since we’ve seen new Corvettes marketed for under MSRP and something tells me these two cars won’t be around long. We just wish this “aggressive pricing scheme” would find its way into more dealer playbooks, but that will only happen after most dealers have satisfied their customer lists.
