A map pick switch on the 2023 KTM 250 SX gives the racer the option between two distinct power delivery systems. Map 2 shows the whole beans sharp, explosive power output, while Map 1 delivers a linear, predictable power delivery.
EFI + Power Valve
EFI allows for far better readability. The KTM 250 SX has been upgraded with electronic fuel injection and a new power valve for more usable power throughout the rpm range. Better traction is the result of a power delivery that is more consistent. The increased grip is a hole-shot champion’s dream.
The KTM 250 SX has always been at the top of the heap regarding unrivaled power and lightweight design. Motocrossers have favored the 2-stroke engine for decades due to its reliability and inexpensive maintenance cost. With its improved performance and total engine weight of 52.6 kg, the KTM 250 SX will enter the pits in 2023 as the standard bearer in the competitive 250 cc class.

An all-new frame design built for longitudinal stiffness and repositioning rotational mass closer to the center of gravity will allow you to maintain complete control no matter how rough the track becomes. The mounting location of the foot pegs has been shifted inward to reduce the chance of hooking up in deep ruts or while scrubbing jumps. A redesigned shock mounting improves anti-squat behavior for more excellent traction out of corners.
The rider triangle on the 2023 KTM 250 SX Dirt Motorcycle and SX-F models has been redesigned from the ground up to provide better knee contact, mainly while using the pegs, and enhanced grip. A revised, flatter seat profile and high grip seat cover allow for excellent rider mobility and control, while new polymers help to expel mud accumulation in wet, muddy situations. The aluminum subframe is strengthened with polyamide, significantly improving the rider’s bike connection.
The 2023 KTM 250 SX Dirt Motorcycle engine puts a premium on centralized rotational mass for efficient functioning with the chassis. It makes for a far more agile and responsive handling experience, allowing you to outmaneuver the opposition quickly much better than 2019 KTM 250 SX.
Featuring low-friction SKF linkage seals and enhanced damping characteristics for superior traction and energy absorption, the new WP XACT shock absorber delivers unrivaled consistency lap after lap.
The frame is hydro-formed, laser cut, and robot-welded by experts. It has carefully calculated longitudinal and torsional flex values to provide excellent rider input and straight-line stability. The frame is a “shock absorber,” softening the blows and reducing rider fatigue over several long circuits.
All-new topology-optimized die-cast footpegs reduce the likelihood of catching on deep ruts and take-offs during scrubbing, while the 2023 KTM 250 SX’s frame and shock absorber geometry increase ground clearance of the linkage.
