2023 Yamaha FZ-S vs 2023 Bajaj Pulsar P150 Comparison Review

Recently, Yamaha Motor India unveiled its 150cc motorcycles, which have been updated with new features and are now OBD-2 compliant. One of them is the Yamaha FZ-S V4, a new, top-of-the-line deluxe variant that was launched at Rs 1.27 lakh, ex-showroom. It compares to the Bajaj Pulsar P150 in terms of specifications.

Engine and gearbox

A 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that produces 12.2 bhp and 13.3 Nm of torque powers the Yamaha FZ-S V4. A 149.68cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine powers the Bajaj Pulsar P150 and has a maximum capacity of 14.3 horsepower and 13.5 Nm. Both the motorcycles are equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the FZ-S V4 includes traction control, a first for the market.

Hardware and features

Bajaj Pulsar P150 and Yamaha FZ-S V4 have mono-shock rear shock absorbers and telescopic front forks. For braking, there are disc brakes at both ends, and single-channel ABS is standard. Additionally, a drum unit at the rear is an option for the Pulsar P150. The P150 gets a semi-digital instrument cluster, while the FZ-S V4 has a digital collection with Bluetooth connectivity.

Price and rivals

1.27 lakh for the Yamaha FZ-S V4 at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.17 lakh to Rs 1.20 lakh for the Bajaj Pulsar P150 respectively. These motorcycles compete with models like Hero Xtreme 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar N160, Yamaha FZ-X, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, etc.
