Ferrari raise eyebrows by taking new PU component for Bahrain GP

Ferrari have made their first power unit component change of the season before any racing laps have been completed.

Charles Leclerc will take a new energy store ahead of the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix, after qualifying third.

With every driver having an allocation of two energy stores for the season, the Ferrari driver will escape penalty.

It is not known if the change in energy store is precautionary, or if the swap is part of a bigger issue with the SF-23 car.

Leclerc is the only driver on the grid to have taken a new power unit component ahead of the Bahrain GP.
