2023 F1 testing: Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes

Tyre wear analysis for Scuderia Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes based on data from the 2023 Formula 1 pre-season testing session, which took place last weekend at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir:

Long run simulations from the second day of pre-season testing in Bahrain:

• Medium (C3):
• Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes did both performance runs (lower-left part of the plot) and stint simulations
• The Ferrari SF-23 had the worst race pace by far!
• Hards (C1 and C2 compounds): Ferrari and Red Bull were more even, with the SF-23 car that had more ultimate pace but also more degradation
• the Maranello team’s tyre degradation was severely hampered by their skinny rear wing
