Volvo’s 2023 Lineup Will be All Electric, Capable of Receiving OTA Updates

Volvo has a vision of helping reduce carbon emissions by putting more hybrid and electric vehicles on the road in Gilbert, AZ. That is why the entire 2023 lineup of Volvo models consists of mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or electric vehicles. All of these Volvo vehicles can also receive OTA (over-the-air) updates.

Types of Electrified Vehicles

Volvo offers three types of electrified vehicles, one of which might be ideal for you to drive all over Phoenix:

  • Mild Hybrid: A mild hybrid engine has both a gas engine and an electric motor that gets charged as you drive.
  • Plug-in Hybrid: A plug-in hybrid engine has both a gas engine and an electric motor. Unlike with mild hybrid engines, the battery in a plug-in hybrid engine needs to be plugged in to recharge. Plug-in hybrid vehicles are often capable of driving for short distances using only electric power.
  • Electric Vehicle: Electric vehicles have a fully electric powertrain powered by a battery. Electric vehicles have zero tailpipe emissions.

What’s New with Volvo’s Lineup?

Three Volvo models now come standard with a mild hybrid engine for drivers in Chandler to drive. These new mild-hybrid engine vehicles include the XC90, XC40, and V60 Cross Country.

What’s In-Store for Volvo Vehicles in the Future?

Volvo aims to offer a fully electric lineup of vehicles by 2030. Volvo intends to be carbon neutral by 2040.
