BMW has released an all-new, fully redesigned fourth generation of "The Boss".

The new 2019 BMW X5 will be out in November of this year–but there's nothing keeping us from talking about it, and all of the incredible new things we can look forward to.

Let's take a look at just a small preview of the 2019 BMW X5, the brand's largest three-row luxury SAV.

The new generation is longer, wider, and taller than its previous model line, boosting size and space inside and out. It is:

  • 1.1 inches longer
  • 2.6 inches wider
  • 1 inch taller

We don't have official cargo space specs to share just yet, but we can estimate that it'll offer more than the 2018 model's 76.7 cubic feet of total storage area inside.

Among the range of cool new features that we'll be seeing in the all-new 2019 BMW X5, quite a few of them are exceptionally bright. LED lighting is now standard for both headlights and taillights, providing better illumination and safety. The panoramic sunroof in select models boasts 30 percent more glass area, for more natural light and a more open feel. Available matte-aluminum trim and subtle chrome accents add even more brightness, and a sharp style, to the exterior.

No surprise that the 2018 BMW X5 will be unbelievably plush–as the first and largest BMW SAV, it's also the most expensive. But, that price comes with a lot. There will be classic Merino leather upholstery options, as well as a new Vernasca leather. You get standard heated seats that can also be cooled–and that can even massage you–along with a full list of BMW tech and comfort features.

The all-new 2019 BMW X5 also brings new power: engine options for the new generation include a 335-horsepower turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine (up 35 HP from the previous) and a 456-horsepower twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 (an 11-HP boost from the previous).

A new Off-Road Package will be available for the first time on the new 2019 BMW X5–we're sure to go into more detail on that in the future–and will bring some unique and capable equipment to this cushy family SAV.

We'll be learning more as it nears the fall, so be sure to check back with the BMW of Kansas City South blog for more details.
