Ferrari confirm early track debut for the F1-75

Ferrari will conduct a demo event with their new F1 car, the F1-75, at Fiorano on Friday, team boss Mattia Binotto has confirmed.

Ferrari’s 2022 challenger was revealed in a special online presentation on Thursday afternoon, catching the eye with a new livery that features flashes of black alongside the traditional red colour scheme.

Race drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have described the car’s design and appearance as “aggressive”, with Ferrari on the hunt for their first world title since 2008.

Ferrari set for Fiorano demo with the F1-75

On Friday, the F1-75 is set to make its track debut at Fiorano in what is classed as a demo run.

Under the sport’s current rules, teams can conduct two demo events per year, limited to just 15km each and on a circuit that has not been approved for F1 cars.

Fiorano is Ferrari’s dedicated test circuit, located next to the team’s Maranello headquarters, though Binotto explained that the “normal track” will not be used for this “demo purpose”.

Ferrari will then use up one of their two permitted filming days for the year (limited to 100km each) at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on 22 February, just before pre-season testing gets underway at the same venue.
