Ford has recently announced that it will be building a Raptor version of its Bronco model later in 2022, but famed Ford fettlers Hennessey have somewhat beat them to the punch with their own version – the VelociRaptor 400 Bronco.
Hennessey’s engineering team enhances the factory 2.7-litre twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 with a new intake and exhaust system, engine software recalibration and larger front-mounted intercooler system. The result is an impressive 411bhp and more than 600lb.ft torque from the stock Bronco Badlands model. The VelociRaptor upgrades mean the Bronco can hit 60mph from standstill in just 4.9 seconds.
To make sure it looks the part, the new livery option pairs VelociRaptor and Hennessey badging with distinctive double bonnet stripes that extend onto the roof. Additionally, each side sees a distinctive ‘D-shape’ line graphic and a ‘number 1’ on the driver / passenger door. Customers may individualise their Bronco further with 35in off-road tires on 18in Hennessey wheels, front and rear VelociRaptor bumpers, retractable side steps and further VelociRaptor branding.
Production of the VelicoRaptor 400 is limited to just 200 units, and Hennessey have been forced to bring forward their production schedule to meet high customer demand.
