Once again, Toyota of Scranton comes through for their local community with an outstanding donation to the St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen local to Scranton. To help spread the altruistic feeling that thanksgiving is all about, the employees of Toyota of Scranton have generously donated the monetary value of each turkey they have received through the dealership this year. For the holiday season, Toyota of Scranton helped provide meals, clothing, and other necessities to local Scranton residents in need. The St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen received well over $2,000 of donations through Toyota of Scranton, a dealership that remains dedicated to the Scranton community in which they serve.
This St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen is local to Scranton, but also has other kitchens around the entire nation. In Scranton, the staff and volunteers work endlessly to provide hot meals to local residents in need. They maintain the Catholic tradition and patron St Francis of Assisi to feed the hungry with the help of local volunteers and donors. The Kitchen provides a meal every day of the year that is warm, balanced and nutritious. The kitchen serves mainly lunch, but provides dinner meals on select weekdays. The Kitchen doesn’t stop at meals, but also help provide the community with a free clothing store and food pantry that relies on donations.
The St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen operates every single day of the year and volunteers, donors, and advocates of any faith are welcome to help. Each year, the Kitchen receives generous donations and thousands of volunteer hours from community members.
