Alfa Romeo have assured their post-Barcelona test launch date does not mean their 2022 challenger is running late.
Teams are hard at work perfecting their 2022 cars as the season approaches, the start of a new era in Formula 1.
The cars will look significantly different to their 2021 predecessors due to the radical overhaul the regulations have been subject to between the campaigns.
With Williams confirming their 2022 challenger will be presented on February 15, that means the launch diary is now complete.
Alfa Romeo are somewhat of an outlier though, after they revealed the covers will be taken off their C42 on February 27, two days after the first period of testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is complete.
That unofficial test is to be held from February 23-25, creating doubt over Alfa Romeo’s presence at the event.
But Alfa Romeo have issued a brief statement to confirm their participation in the test with their new challenger.
“There will be a test drive before the full debut on Sunday 27th,” the statement read, quoted by Ilta-Sanomat.

Alfa Romeo are hoping to begin their journey up the Formula 1 order in 2022 having finished P9 in the 2021 Constructors’ Championship.
The Swiss-based outfit collected only 21 points across the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
But besides a new challenger designed to fresh regulations, Alfa Romeo will also have a new-look driver line-up to help try and improve their fortunes.
Ten-time F1 race winner Valtteri Bottas has arrived after spending five seasons with Mercedes, helping to secure the Constructors’ Championship in every season of that stint.
He will be partnered by Guanyu Zhou, the first Chinese driver to take their place on the Formula 1 grid.
He makes the step up from Formula 2 having secured P3 in the 2021 standings, claiming four race wins as part of the UNI-Virtuosi Racing team.
