Bollywood actor Ranvir Shorey has brought a new SUV for himself. It is the Mahindra XUV700 finished in white colour. Ranvir shared the image of himself with the XUV700 on Twitter.
Ranvir wrote on Twitter, “White is the new black” He also used the #newwheels #buyindian. The famous actor opted for the AX7 L variant with all-wheel drive. So, it is the top-end variant of the XUV700 that is offered only with the diesel engine. The XUV700 is the only SUV in the segment that is offered with an all-wheel-drive drivetrain. All the other SUVs in the segment are front-wheel driven.
The XUV700 is also primarily front-wheel drive but it can send power to the rear wheels as well in case it detects loss of traction. It is important to note that it is an all-wheel-drive system, not a proper 4×4 system that we get on the Thar. So, it is not made for proper off-roading but it will come in handy when you are driving in tricky situations such as icy roads or slippery roads.
Price and variants
The XUV700 starts at Rs. 12.95 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 23.79 lakhs ex-showroom. It is offered in two trims, MX and AX. The AX Trim is further divided into four variants. There is AX3, AX5, AX7 and AX7L. Ranvir opted for the top-end AX7L variant.
Engine and gearbox
Mahindra offers two engine options with the XUV700. There is a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Ranvir opted for the diesel engine with an automatic gearbox. So, his XUV700 produces 185 Ps of max power and 450 Nm of peak torque. If you get the 6-speed manual gearbox then the torque output is decreased to 420 Nm.
The MX trim gets a lower state of tune of the diesel engine. It produces 155 PS of max power and 360 Nm. It is offered only with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Then there is the turbo petrol engine that produces 200 PS off max power and 380 Nm of peak torque. It is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Loaded with features
Being the top-end variant, Ranvir’s XUV700 comes with Blind View Monitor, Sony Sound System, Passive Keyless Entry, Electronic Parking Brake, Electronic Smart Door Handles, Wireless Charger etc. There is also a tyre pressure monitoring system, electric adjustment for the driver seat with welcome function, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, air purifier, rear parking camera, dual-zone climate control, digital instrument cluster and a lot more.
Moreover, Mahindra also offers Advanced Driver Aids Systems. So, Ranvir gets Adaptive Cruise Control in Stop and Go Traffic, Smart Pilot assist, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, High Beam Assist, Lane Keep Assist and Automatic Emergency Braking.
