Schnitzelalm Racing takes over 10Q Racing Team’s GT3 programme

Burgeoning VLN Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) team Schnitzelalm Racing is taking over the two-car Mercedes-AMG GT3 programme of 10Q Racing Team. The Eifel-based, Allgäu originating team is yet to announce a racing schedule for its new project, instead opting for an extensive testing programme before debuting its new cars.

After a highly successful debut season in GT racing with a two-car Mercedes-AMG GT4 project at the Nürburgring resulting in the SP10/GT4 championship title in the NLS and class victory in the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring, the next step for Thomas Angerer’s passion project is GT3 racing. For this, 10Q Racing Team’s GT3 department has been acquired.

“Taking over the two GT3 cars gives us a very good opportunity to get into GT3 racing,” says team owner Angerer.

“I am very happy that this deal has come about and look forward to the challenges that we will now face.

“So far there are no set plans for entries with the GT3 cars. We’ll go through an extensive testing programme before we commit to a championship.

“The level in GT3 racing is extremely high and our goal is to be at the forefront. It won’t happen overnight, but I’m sure that we’re in a good position in the long term.”

As with the GT4 project, the GT3 department of Schnitzelalm Racing will be led by former HTP Motorsport team manager Günter Aberer.

While the debut of the GT3s awaits, Schnitzelalm Racing is going full steam ahead into the 2022 season with a return to the Nürburgring-Nordschleife with its trusty Mercedes-AMG GT4 and BMW M240i Racing Cup cars, as well as branching out into the ADAC GT4 Germany with a two-car programme.
